Foreward

As a seed falls through the crack in the concrete its tiny roots stretch to reach the soil beneath

It has no tree to shade it from the sun or help preserve the tiny dew drop in the morning before the ravages of the sun absorbs the moisture

It has no surrounding plants to protect it from the harsh blustering wind

It bravely holds its own tucked in the crack and bending  and bowing whichever way the wind blows

It is starved of nutrients and water and yet survives  and continues to grow

As it stands alone in the centre of the  cold and damp concrete, it never gives up

It grows tall and the flower opens its petals  to see the  glowing  green grass, plants  and trees in the distance

It is suddenly hit with a thunderstorm blowing it backwards and forwards beating it with hailstones

It is battered but not beaten, it has not lost a petal and it is standing strong!
